Who says layovers have to be boring? When planning my trip to Cebu, I decided to make the journey part of the adventure by stopping in Hawaii with my good friend Nimai Malle.
We may have been short on time, but we were long on enthusiasm! We managed to pack in a whirlwind tour of the island, hitting all the highlights while still having time to savor the moments that mattered most.
The absolute star of our Hawaiian adventure was Mitch's Sushi. This place isn't just a restaurant; it's a temple of fresh fish and perfect rice. The quality and creativity of their rolls were mind-blowing, definitely worth planning a layover around!

This Hawaiian stopover turned out to be the perfect way to ease into my Asian journey. It set the tone for what would become an incredible series of adventures in the Philippines.
Sometimes the best travel experiences come from those "why not?" moments of spontaneous planning!
