Hey guys, I would really appreciate you taking the time to read, think and donate some cash to help my friend Stacy Childress get additional therapy for his son.
Stacey is an electrician here in Austin who does absolutely solid work, wicked quick and charges extremely fairly. He has done my kitchen before, and this week he wired up another kitchen for me, ran a new circuit to the shop and treehouse and a dozen other smaller electrical jobs - all again very quickly and for a low rate - and done with excellence.
But with him everyday in the work truck, parked under one of my oak trees is his adult son who was nearly killed by thieves (the story is gruesome and tragic and made me cry). He was left for dead, had a stroke and has lost the function of the left side of his body. Everyday Stacey has him ride in the truck with him to the job sites because he cannot risk falling or otherwise take care of himself. He sits very patiently in the truck and I wave and mumble something, his son waves back and then I shuffle off.
Stacey is trying to raise $35k. What he will do with that money is to pay $10-15k in direct uncovered medical care in Florida from a doctor that believes he can recover some use of the left side of his body. While that is happening, there needs to be housing and care for his son beyond the medical.
Stacey is also trying to sell a piece of property he has, and when I get a link I will share it here. The property he is hoping would get $60k, and then after splitting with his ex-wife who left him and the son after the attack he would be pretty much there.
He works his ass off every day, and he is doing everything he can to make things work for his son, but he needs some help.
I put in $1000. Even if you could do $5 or $50, that would help pay for some meals in Florida.
Totally great people.
