It is a popular thing to say these days that the [federal] government sucks. That it is too big and too powerful. These same people usually agree that lobbyists and corruption riddle all three branches of our government.
Yet, I have *never* once heard how we would be a more free people if the federal government was greatly reduced in power and the transnationals filled that power vacuum?
Why would we be free? Would the transnationals break themselves up on their own out of some sort of politeness or fairness?
Why would those with money no longer attempt to capture the many smaller governments?
Is there somehow hope that they would somehow tire of their newly increased power and just chill out and go local?
