Today I did my first "real" wreck dive with full penetration of the smuggling ship the Hilma Hooker.
This has been my 8th dive on the weed ship. And while in the past I have tucked into the cargo hold, and once did a small swim through one section...
... but today Chris Verstappen led us on a full tour of the inside of this boat.
The engine room was amazing. A huge 15-20 foot long engine block with 6 double pistons.
Really neat trapped spent air in different pockets that looked like liquid mercury flowing along the ceiling.
I even stuck my head through that porthole from the inside.
There was three HUGE spiny lobsters at the bottom that had absolutely no fear of human divers.
I was expecting to be more anxious - but it was fine!
Thank you Chris Verstappen!
