Wow! How many of you honestly knew about the betrayal of the Parisian people by Thiers during the Communards?

I raise my hand and admit I was fully ignorant of the whole affair, and yet here is another case where the ruling class prefers to surrender to their military enemy after subjecting their own working class to five months of bitter starvation in the enseiged Paris rather than have people represented by politicians that were subject to recall if they failed to honor the people's will.

The more you read about history, the darker and more evil it becomes.
