So in the spirit of trying to share stuff that is positive and not meant to just be a snarky attack on people who think differently...
Watch this video.
Think about it for a bit.
I don't blame these two people. These are good people trying to do their best to live and even be a little bit interested in the greater political society. They trust their leaders to not lie to them. They believe that is a fundamental foundation of society - and yes they are wrong. But so what!? Do we blame them? Do we blame the people of North Korea for being peasant slaves and not rising up against their criminal leader? At what point do we hold the people in power to be accountable?
Can we really allow news and politicians to enjoy the ability to lie?
They use the 1st amendment to commit crimes of propaganda that not only cause harm to our democratic republic, but they also kill. Not just WW2, but recently with the PP killings for example. Or the violent racism and bigotry.
To be direct, I think if you are a news organization (your primary revenue stream is a news product) you must not knowingly lie, and if you find out you have lied, you must make best commercial efforts to repair the effect of the lie. If you are a politician, same thing. And if found to have a pattern of intentionally lying you lose your license to run for public office. (Someone else work out the details.)
This is a real issue. We cannot ask for everyone to be civil and polite *and* let the evil ones use propaganda that directly leads to murder and mayhem.
