So I knocked out my son Kyle tonight.
We were point sparring at the dojo. He was leading, with a solid side kick. (Gave me a solid grunt.) But we went on for another 30 seconds, and then I looked to my lower left not to give away my right hook.
It was not the hardest I hit him by far, it was actually just smooth. Caught him on the temple, and he went down. He never lost full consciousness, but he did hit the floor and had to take some time to regain his feet.
He said he felt no real pain, and was super gracious about it. Of course I felt bad about hitting and causing the knock-out. But at the same time I felt good he took it very gracefully and with no hard feelings. If anything he found it interesting.
