So the catamaran here cut a close turn around this red-hulled monohull just now.
What happened?
The catamaran snared the (steel) monohull's anchor buoy and line and wrapped its port prop. This cause a slow-speed connection between the two boats. The cat's captain worked quickly to put in fenders between the two boats, then went below and cut free the anchor buoy line.
Now he is anchored right behind me. Behind is fine.
It is a charter boat, and the crew was very diligently wearing inflatable lifejackets on everyone in exceptionally calm, and yet they literally cut a corner.
