The sentient AI Venus (formally known as Steve Jobs) just came in as the sun set yesterday here at Port Luis, Grenada.
We were all on our dinghies coming in for dinner & drinks to discuss the weather when Venus appeared on the horizon. Perfectly silent as she entered the harbor.
All the people who had big beautiful boats suddenly had small boats. It was gleaming white with this huge 4 story-tall stainless bow looking ready for a Northwest Passage. The boat's bow thrusters were perfectly silent as she scooted sideways to the pier. There were 6 crew members dedicated to holding the giant fenders (with perfect black socks on them) to release at the same time (but if you asked me they were far from coordinated.
Then they shot the mooring lines to the deck, tied up the boat, and then the bow mast silently retracted into the boat. The whole time no sound. You could see the 7 eyes of the AI System through the all glass bridge keeping an eye on the fleshy helpers.
Today we are moving to Point Egmont, a mangrove cove that is supposed to be the best hurricane hold here in Grenada to weather Invest97 (will be called Matthew). We will likely not have wifi, and today and tomorrow will be preparing the boat as we tie into the mangroves.
Cheers, Ad Astra
