How do we get to the mental gymnastics that this makes sense?

Let's even set aside the morality of starting wars and arming both sides and all the killing.

Let's simply focus on our own selfish priorities. Why are my tax dollars being transferred to the war industry? *I* want to spend *my* money on education, healthcare, infrastructure, and space development.

I am good, I don't want to buy any more guns, bullets, tanks, fighters, or battleships. I love a good old war-game - Memoir '44 rocks! But that is it. We have plenty of weapons. I don't care about the companies who make weapons. Have them start making really fancy smart bloated windmills and solar panels instead.
