Phew!

That was hard!

Coming into shelter bay marina, I had about 15 kts of wind behind us and a bit pushing us off our designated T berth.

Normally no big deal, but all I had to work with was the stbd engine. If I didn't maintain steerage, we would have been blown into the mangroves.

But coming in too fast and we had a neighbor catamaran right in front of us. So we had to get to zero velocity quick.

So coming in fairly fast, and very close to the floating dock, as soon as Kyle tossed the bowline I hit stbd reverse hard, this cancelled our forward motion, but pushed the bow hard into the dock. (See pix.)

With the bow line secure, high rpms on stbd reverse, we clawed our aft end back to the dock before the wind could spin our ass out.

Toss the aft line and a spring line.

Alternating forward and reverse on stbd and got Ad Astra tied up.

The New Zealand catamaran was visibly relieved when we were tied down and engines off.

Oh, and we made it to Panama!
