It has always been a pain to use Android File Transfer on my android phones with my mac.
Finally found out about using the Developer options to get raw USB access!
Settings go to System->About Phone
Repeatedly tap on the build number.
After like 8 taps, this will unlock developer options.
Once you do that, hit back, and in the System select "Developer Options."
Scroll down to "Debugging", and toggle the option for "USB Debugging".
