Great article on how parents can jump the shark with homeschooling and abuse their kids to satisfy their religious and political beliefs.

Problem is that the kids are paying the price for their parents' desires.

We homeschool, and frankly, we benefit from having ZERO regulations from the state... It saves us time.

But I do think we need some regulation and some forms of what these parents did should be considered abuse... The obvious is the failure to get a birth certificate and social security number seriously fucks up these kids future... That should be illegal.

Anti-vaxxers - should be illegal.

Don't want to teach math according to common core - for sure knock yourself out!

The key idea is you are guiding your kids to be successful, not mindless robots or religious drones... Give them the tools to choose their way.
