Thoughts and prayers are enough

The 2nd amendment is the foundation of our greatness

It was not terrorism, it was mental illness of a lonely man

Yeah but, look at the number of deaths in Detroit and Chicago

Yeah but look at the knives and truck attacks in Europe

We have heard all the bullshit so many times before.

The largest act of terrorism on US soil since 9/11 and the terrorist simply used a retail gun and a good vantage point. No dirty bombs bombs, drones, type 4 viruses, just your basic assault rifle and ammo bought at your local sporting goods store and a Vegas room with a decent view.

This act of terrorism is not going to change anything. The lunatic fringe of 30% are going to say it was a false flag attack from the Deep State as a part of the shadow wars.

Progressives will complain about guns (like I am doing) but we are not organized enough, nor do we have the willpower to change our gun laws. Hell we do not even have the willpower to demand single payer healthcare.

Gun sales will go UP starting today. Money managers will be using their margins and buying up stock on the gun manufacturers. Trump will use this opportunity to make more people scared of their fellow Americans.

And more children, women and men will be killed by the end of today, because of our fetish with guns.

It would not be hard to change the laws, and it would not be hard to enforce the laws. We already know what the laws should be as we have 20 different countries to model them after, and we have the largest, most powerfully militarized police forces in the world that can enforce their will.

We just love our guns more than we love each other.

I have been a vocal critic of guns for years now, and so many others have been as well. But clearly it is not enough. In the meantime we have gone retrograde on so many other fronts with the evil populism of Trump.

At some point someone will start to kill the truly powerful. Then the gun laws will change the next day.
